Bill Withers made me sad, but I kind of liked it.

Hope She’ll Be Happier is a depressing song, Wither’s sings ‘maybe the lateness of the hour makes me seem bluer than I am’, but really, I don’t think a song gets more blue or forlorn than one about a person you love who has left you and you’re so sad, but still so in love, that you hope they’ll be happier without you. Damn, pour me a glass of wine.

On a slight side note, the sustained note in this song (you’ll know what I’m talking about when you hear it) is fantastic.
